The VB power staff and I just returned from a week in Chicago for the 2010 iHobby expo show.  iHobby is one of two shows per year (the other being the spring RCX show in Pomona).  I’ve attended iHobby expo twice now, and every time I’m struck by the innovation in our industry, also the feedbacks from my customers .  This iHobby expo was no different.

At the begining, Traxxas, an R/C manufacturer—held a display- media-only pre-show, complete with buffet, beverages, and new product videos and demos.  Can I say the word “awesome!” without it sounding cliche?  Traxxas’ pre-show sneak peek was the perfect way to get us fired up for a the show and their new vehicles.  As the media was packed into a high-end hotel meeting room, Traxxas put on quite a show.  Most notable were the 4×4 Stampede (so fast and cool), 1/16-scale Summit VXL, Kawasaki 2wd Slash, and a pre-production Ken Block Edition 1/16-scale Rally car.  I’d show you photos of the Ken Block car but we were asked by Traxxas to NOT to release pics of the Ken Block vehicle until later this winter.  Some of us honored Traxxas’ request and happily obliged, while others…well, not so much.

After the big Traxxas release, I walked the show, hung out in our booth and handed out over 3,000 copies of our new December 2010 issue.  Some of the best feedback we’ve ever received was given at this show.  All of us appreciate your loyalty and your love of product.  It’s you guys that keep us going.  If you weren’t able to attend iHobby, send me an email —what information do you like, what would you like to see more of, etc.  I look forward to hearing from you.
